We recently went to see Manitoba play at the Biribay Jazz Club in Logroño, and stopped for a drink at the Centro Gallego beforehand.  Here are a few photos.  Shots of the band will be posted here at a later date.  All were shot with a Canonet QL 17 rangefinder camera on Ilford HP5 Plus 35 mm film.

Saint-Émilion

I picked up a 35 mm full frame scanner adaptor this week.  Scanning 35 mm film with the sprocket holes is now much less of a pain in the neck.  Here's a few shots from last summer that I've finally gotten around to scanning.  All were shot with a blackbird, fly plastic camera on 35 mm Fuji film.

Comments are always welcome.  Thanks for visiting!

Cows

We encountered this trio of beautiful, curious cows on our recent trip to France.  They live in a small field near Petit Palais, and were kind enough to pose for a few portraits.  All were shot with a blackbird, fly plastic camera on Fuji Superia film.

Rocks

We're heading north for vacation starting tomorrow.  I'm hoping we might be able to swing by Bakio beach  - one the best spots for sea glass scrounging I've encountered.  Both of these photos were shot there last summer, on 35 mm film using a blackbird, fly plastic camera.

Almond Blossoms

I finally got around to scanning some photos from early March.  The almond trees here bloomed while it was still cold (in February).  As of today, all of the almond flowers are gone and the trees are green.  Shot on 35 mm film, using a blackbird, fly camera.

Bilbao

My pile of unscanned negatives is growing.  Also, my black and white chemistry arrived last week (which means new 4 x 5 shots are coming soonish).  Unfortunately, my taxes will not do themselves and my crappy day-job will also not do itself.  Grumble.  Anyhow, here's a bbf shot from the archives.  Shot in Bilbao (on a typically overcast day) in the old industrial zone near the river, on 35 mm film using a blackbird, fly plastic camera.  Now, back to work.

Romania 2006

These photos are all from my trip to Romania in 2006.  The scans have been lurking on my hard-drive for ages, and I haven't really thought about these photos since I scanned them.  One day I'll go through all of the photos from that trip, clear the dust and (maybe) rescan my favorites.  Until then, here's a sampling.  All were shot on 35 mm film using a Nikon F3.

Two Views of La Peña de los Enamorados

La Peña de los Enamorados, 2010
La Peña de los Enamorados, as seen from the top of a hill in Antequera, Spain.  From this angle, the mountain doesn't quite appear human.  This photo was shot on expired Kodak Gold film using a blackbird, fly plastic camera.

Below, another view of the mountain.  This one was taken from a moving bus.  Shot on film using a Canonet QL17 rangefinder camera.  The human profile of the mountain is more visible.

Cat Peers from a Window

Fuzzy Cat, 2010
Here's another one from last spring.  It's out of focus. but I like the added fuzziness of the cat.  Shot on film, using a blackbird, fly plastic camera.

Fig Branches

Figs, 2010
About four months ago, I set aside some recently processed negatives that needed to flatten for a while.  Yesterday, I remembered I still had not scanned them.   Hooray for new (old) photos!  Here's one from last summer, shot on a blackbird, fly plastic camera.

Hiking with Nessie

Hiking with Nessie
A (short) trip back in the time machine to the days when Nessie was only a small pup. Shot on film using a Canonet QL17 rangefinder camera.
