Polaroid Week 2011, Day One

Today is the first day of Polaroid Week 2011.  I might shoot some of my remaining sheets of Type 55 this week, but today I shot Fuji FP100C using a Pinhole 100 camera.  Here are my first Polaroid Week shots.

El Cementario de Fuente de Piedra

A hot, sunny and cloudless day... probably not ideal conditions for pinhole photos in a cemetery.  Today, I decided to ignore the clear, blue skies and bring the Pinhole 100 over to the local boneyard.  El Cementario de Fuente de Piedra is a typical white walled Spanish cemetery, filled with a mix of mausoleums, tombs and shady cypress trees.  All of these were shot on Fuji FP100-C instant film.  Due to the bright sun, the exposures were all very short.

Sunflowers

The sunflowers are already in bloom here in Fuente!  Here are a few shots of said sunflowers.  All were shot with a Pinhole 100 camera on Fuji FP100-C instant film.  As usual, comments are welcome.  Thanks for visiting.

Pinhole Dog Again

My dog poses for a pinhole portrait.  Vaguely psychedelic, in my humble opinion.  Shot with a Pinhole 100 camera on Fuji FP-100C instant film.

More Fuji FP-100C Negatives

Here are a couple more FP-100C negatives, obtained via the bleaching technique explained here.  My results are still not as scanner ready as described in the posting, so I probably need to improve my technique.  Also, none of the descriptions of this process that I've seen thus far go into any detail about the developer muck on the emulsion side of the negative.  Oh well,  I'll keep on trying.  Enough of my gabbing.... on to the pictures.  All were shot with a Pinhole 100 camera.    Any tips or comments from readers will be much appreciated.

More Pinhole 100 Flowers

A continuation from yesterday's posting - a few more scans from yesterday's walk and pinhole shoot.  All were shot on a Pinhole 100 camera using Fuji FP100-C instant film.  I'm hoping to have time to bleach the negatives from these over the weekend.

Poppies (and other flowers)!

Spring is here!  A perfect day to take the old Pinhole 100 out for a spin and shoot a few flowers.  Both were shot on Fuji FP100C instant film.

Wheat (and Another Fuji FP-100C Negative)

Here's my latest attempt at Fuji FP100C instant negative reclamation.  Still not quite what I was hoping for, but much better results that my previous attempt.  The instant print is visible below.  Shot with a Pinhole 100 camera, 8 second exposure.  There is a pile of FP-100C backing paper piling up on my desk, so come back to this space for the results of further experimentation.  As usual, any comments or suggestions are welcome.

Floras

We took the pup for a walk by the Laguna today.  It is definitely flower and allergy season here.   I shot a few floral pinholes with the Pinhole 100.  This is the only one I've gotten around to scanning thus far.  It was a 10 second exposure (a bit too long for the bright sun here) shot on Fuji FP100 C instant film.

Solar Panel Pinhole

Solar Field, 2011
This is one of our favorite places to take the dog for walks.  She chases rabbits and I take photos.  Shot on Fuji FP100C instant film using a Pinhole 100 camera, 15 second exposure.

Reclaimed Fuji FP-100C Negative

I've recently learned that one can reclaim a scannable/ printable negative from Fuji FP 100C instant film.  This was very happy news for me, as I've been very sad since Polaroid Type 55 was discontinued, and a replacement/ comparable positive/ negative film would make me very happy.  I won't go into detail, but the process is explained here and here.   Here is the result of my first attempt, along with the instant print.  I'm not sure what I did wrong, but I think it has something to do with the emulsion.  The photo was  shot using a Pinhole 100 camera.

The Trees, They Bloom!

Trees, 2011

Trees, 2011
Two shots from this afternoon's dog walk.  The tripod tipped over during the first exposure, but it's not as shaky as I had feared.  The almond trees started blooming a couple of weeks ago, despite the fact that it was January (and now February) and still cold.  I'm not sure if that's normal for this area.
Both photos were shot on Fuji FP-100C instant film using a Pinhole 100 pinhole camera.

Cat in a Window

Cat in a Window 1, 2011

Cat in a Window 2, 2011

It is nearly impossible to get even the laziest cat to sit still in a warm and cozy window for a long exposure photo. Here are my latest attempts.  30 and 45 second exposures, shot on expired Polaroid 664 film using a Pinhole 100 camera. If you squint, you can see my cat.

Pinhole 100

I've just received my brand new Pinhole 100 camera in the mail!  Made by A Power in Japan, it uses instant Fuji or Polaroid Type 100 film.  Here is the company website (mostly in Japanese):

Here are my first two exposures shot on the camera.  Both exposures were around 30 to 40 seconds, shot on expired Polaroid 664 film.
