Mezquita de Córdoba

We had a quick visit to Cordoba last Saturday, mostly to see the Mezquita de Córdoba and wander around the town a bit.  I managed to take a few pinholes inside the Mezquita, and then managed to mangle my film while loading the developing tank. (Seems I've done that before...hmmm.)  While I'm generally not a fan of excessive Photoshop, I decided a sepia filter worked nicely with my scratchy, mangled negatives.  Instant fake aging!   All were shot with a Zero 2000 pinhole camera on Ilford Delta 100 black and white film.

Cordoba 1, 2011
This one was shot on the non-cathedral side, where there is much less light than the cathedral side.  After about 10 minutes I had to move the camera out of the was of a large tour group.

Cordoba 2, 2011
There's much more light on the cathedral side.  This one was about a four minute exposure.

Cordoba 3, 2011
Also shot on the cathedral side.  This exposure was only about two or three minutes.

Pinhole Dog Again

My dog poses for a pinhole portrait.  Vaguely psychedelic, in my humble opinion.  Shot with a Pinhole 100 camera on Fuji FP-100C instant film.

La Romería de Nuestra Señora de las Virtudes Part 2

Here is the second batch of photos from La Romería de Nuestra Señora de las Virtudes.  The previous shots in the series can be found here.  All were shot with a Rolleicord Va on TMax 400 film.

La Romería de Nuestra Señora de las Virtudes

La Romería de Nuestra Señora de las Virtudes occurs in Fuente de Piedra on the second Sunday in May.  It starts on Saturday, when an icon of the virgin is taken from the church, placed on an oxcart, and walked past the Laguna to a spot in the countryside.  In this case, the countryside spot is a picnic sight near a campground/ caravan park.  The following day is spent at the picnic spot, and in the evening the icon is walked back to the church.  I shot quite a few photos of the camino to the campground (on color and black and white).  The color shots won't be ready for a while, but here is a selection of some of the black and white.  All were shot with a Rolleicord Va on TMax 400 film.

My Rolleicord Still Works!

Many years ago, I dropped my Rolleicord on a studio floor.  The lenses and viewfinder survived the fall, but the back no longer closes properly.  Not long after that happened, I packed the camera away and moved to a different apartment, always meaning to get the thing fixed.  Fast forward ten years (ten years!?!), and I've finally dusted off the Rollei and taken it for a walk in the woods.  I have to keep the back taped shut but otherwise it still works fine.  Hooray!  Here are a few shots from the first roll shot on my bent but not broken Rollei.

More Shots From Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day 2011

All of my WPPD film has been processed and scanned.  Most of my 4 x 5 negatives were damaged, due to my exuberant and curious cat deciding to jump on the film changing bag as I was loading my developing tank.  In my rush to finish loading the tank in order to free my hands and remove the cat from on top of the bag I pushed the top clip down too far, thus squashing some of the sheets of film together.  The resulting damage is visible on the bottom two images.  I think the cat will have to stay in a different room next time.  All three were shot with a Leonardo 4 x 5 pinhole camera on TMax 100 sheet film.  I'll probably submit a photo to the WPPD gallery later today.  I'm leaning towards one of the Zero 2000 shots.   I'll post a link to the gallery once I decide which photo to send.

UPDATE:  Click here to view my submission to this year's WPPD gallery.
